Health in the 21st Century is a course offered to students of all grades. This course is designed to assist students in obtaining accurate information
regarding a wide range of health care professions. Study will include a segment on study skills, resume writing, a library and research segment
and discussion concerning specific health career paths. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary learning strategies correlating clinical and
didactic education necessary for all healthcare providers. Examples of some of the healthcare professions discussed include
medical doctor, nurse, medical assistant, physician assistant, dentist, dental hygienist, surgical tech, radiographer and optometrist.
3/31/2014 Students just completed the nutrition unit where they were asked to create a healthy snack/drink to be presented to the class. The next unit will be the drug education unit where they will learn about international drug policies and how they effect the drug policy of the United States.
